Car Crash Injures 2
The following article appeared in The Times on Monday, October 14, 1974 on page 10:

Schererville - Two persons were injured Sunday in a two car accident on U.S. 30 near the entrance of the Holiday Inn.

Injured were Marvin Murdock, 42, of 1405 E. 36th Place, Gary, who is in poor condition at Hobart Mercy Hospital; and Wilbur Hardaway, 73, of 457 Massachusetts St., Gary, in fair condition at Methodist Hospital.

According to Indiana State Police, Murdock was west bound on U.S. 30 when the car driven by Katie Parker of Gary turned in front of him to enter the Holiday Inn. The Murdock car was pushed into a parked vehicle. Hardaway was a passenger in the Parker vehicle.

Wilbur j.Hardaway was my biological father I'm Antoinette green Hardaway ,he was a great man a great leader he graduated from Tuskegee institute he married Willa B. Brown, she was a Tuskegee first negro airplane pilot to serve her country. she also was a school teacher in 1926 she teached at Emerson School .my father never lost election Gary, Indiana. never acknowledge or gave recognition to a great black leader but the crusaders newspaper. I am proud to be the daughter of Wilbur J. Hardaway the fact that I act like him outspoken, he also was the first principal speaker of the United States he traveled all over the United States speaking also with Martin Luther King in 1968 martin ask him would he take over the law enforcement .he said yes he would he told Martin Luther King he would be proud to take over the law enforcement for the negro people ,he never used the word color to him was purple, green, gray ,blue, he said my people are negroes we're not colored I don't use the word color. I said I am a negro or black. I will be posting pictures of a great black leader a Republican which Gary, Indiana was mad about he got. the segregated Ward for the hospital 48 new beds for the military black people need to wake up and understand it's not about a Democrat or a Republican it's about a human being it's about people coming together unity as one my grandfather was a minister William j.Hardaway his sister was Stevenland Hardaway known as Stevie Wonder a great musician God has blessed me to have gave me birth with a beautiful name Hardaway my father loved his black negroes he was over organized cry which meant you couldn't go in a black neighborhood and messed with a black person it's like Martin Luther King they both love their negroes people which negroes do not love they selves negroes do not give love back they only hate one another no compassion morals values or respect black people need to get it together I will be back on the site to write more about my great father and it's accomplishments as a leader for the state of Indiana God bless
