He had siblings Lucy Mary Ann (Dovaston) Madex, William Samuel Dovaston, Alfred George Dovaston, Lillian Selina Dovaston, Annie Dovaston, Sydney Joseph Dovaston, and Madge Jessie Dovaston Shalders. Wilfred Dovaston married Jean Botherwell Cock in 1939, and died at age 66 years old on July 3, 1979 in Ararat.
