    Ann Arbor News 08 January 1973 Klein, William H. 337 Mulholland -- Age 83, died this morning at the Saline Community Hospital after a three month illness. Born August 16, 1889 in Wayne County, near Waltz, he was the son of Herman and Mary Schmid Klein. Mr. Klein was a resident of Washtenaw County since 1903. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1903, a life member of the Zion Lutheran Church Brotherhood, a veteran of World War I, and a life member of the Fraternity Lodge No. 262 F & AM. In 1903 the family moved to a farm in Lodi Township. Mr. Klein worked on the family farm until 1909 and then worked as a farm hand until 1913 when after completing training at the Cunningham Motor Co. in Detroit (Dealer of Maxwell Cars), he went into the automobile repair business, retiring in 1961. On September 8, 1921 he married Effie Roos; she preceded him in death on April 3, 1965. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Benjamin J. (Lillian) Standen of St. Joseph, Mich.; two sons, William C. of Saline and John H. of Ann Arbor; ten grandchildren; one brother, Herman of Sun City, Arizona; six sisters, Mrs. Carl Tessmer, Mrs. Carl Ringkvist, Mrs. Harry Dildine, Mrs. Martin Schlenker, Mrs. Louis Berner, all of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Otto Zick of Albion; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred and a sister, Rose. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. David F. Bracklein officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the General Memorial Fund of the Zion Lutheran Church.
