William James Bradbury 1859 - 1905

William James Bradbury of Marysborough Australia was born on December 16, 1859 in Hobart, TAS. He was in a relationship with Sarah Ann Bradbury ( Carlyon, and had children William John Henry Bradbury, Herbert Lawrence Bradbury, Percy Edward Bradbury, Florence May Fletcher ( Bradbury, and Arthur Ernest Bradbury. William Bradbury died at age 46 years old in 1905 in Saint Arnaud Hospital, VIC, and was buried in January 1905 at Wright St, in Maryborough.

Introduction

The Age, Melbourne, January 1905. LOCOMOTIVE DRIVER KILLED. ST. ARNAUD, Friday. William Bradbury, a well known driver on the railway between Maryborough and Donald, met with a fatal accident this afternoon. After taking the train from Maryborough to Donald, he inspected the engine going out to Birchip, and it is surmised that when alighting he slipped from the footplate on to the rails. The engine ran over both his legs, which were horribly crushed. He was brought by special train to St. Arnaud Hospital, and died about an hour after admission. Deceased leaves a widow and family.
