William Merton Gale
I have an old studio photograph of William Merton GALE which was taken at the Chamberlain Studio in Webster, MA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's with William just an infant at the time. A note indicates that William was born in Webster, MA. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding William and his family:
William Merton GALE was b. 25 Apr 1877 in Webster, MA to parents William Franklin GALE (1837-1907) and Augusta Ada HOYLE KEMP (1844-1932) so were married 8 Jun 1876 in Webster, MA. William was one of four children born to this couple including William; Ralph Clifford; Lorinda “Lora” Augusta; and Marion Emiline GALE, all born between 1877 and 1887. His mother was married previously and had a son, Frank Adelbert KEMP (1866-1916).
William married Alice Flora WHITNEY (1877-1963) on 30 Mar 1899 in Southbridge, MA. William and Alice had four children including William Herbert; Reginald Clifford; Franklin Allerton; and Rosalind Lucille GALE, all born between 1899 and 1909. William died 18 Feb 1965 in Palmer, MA and is buried in the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Palmer, MA.
