William Minty and his wife Elizabeth arrived in the colony of Victoria from the United Kingdom in 1863. They arrived on the ship "Naval Reserve". They spent 11 years in Victoria before moving north to the colony of New South Wales and settling in Wagga Wagga. They had six children: * George James Minty (he married Effie Ada Haines in 1899). They had 3 daughters. George Minty enlisted in the Army in World War 1 and went to Europe. He died in action in France and is buried there. He died on 13 March 1917. * Arthur Minty. Never Married. Died after a gun shot accident while travelling to get work as a shearer. Passed away in September 1899. * Ellen Minty. Married William Baker, a farmer, in 1892. They had 7 children (3 boys and 4 girls). She passed away on 21 June 1941. * Mary A. Minty. Married Edward Simpson in 1895. * Elizabeth Minty. Married Thomas Swanborough in 1897. * Another son. Born and died in Victoria. William Minty worked as a saddler in Wagga Wagga, NSW. William Minty passed away on 11 February 1897 in Wagga Wagga aged 60 years.
