Bill Cowan was born William Semple ELSTOB. He changed his surname to COWAN when the went to Australia in 1925. He married Mildred Florence Dibbs in 1926 - they are my grandparents. [contact link]

William Cowan died at age 44 years old on October 31, 1946 at St. Andrews Presbetarian Hospital, Cathedral Place, in East Melbourne, and was buried on November 1, 1946 at Springvale Crematorium .
