In the Navy he worked on building and finishing the S.S. Ronald Reagan, which, today, is a sea going vessel carrying Naval forces overseas. It was an accomplishment that he was proud of for me. As his sister, he was also my best friend although we could mix it up and fight at times. As he grew up we grew closer. He knew that Ronald Reagan was my personal hero. When he came home, that plaque that he received he proudly placed in my hands. There are no coincidences in life.
  • Professional Career

Jack of all trades, but he was a rolling stone. Always on adventures, he was never in one place for too long. He was in the Navy for some time.
  • Personal Life & Family

He was great great with skateboard and took to it at an early age. But it wasn't long before he discovered roller blading and an obsession was born. He was barely a pre-teen before he got his first pair. He was always at the local skate shop. He would do any odd jobs to earn upgrades as he could. Better wheels... pads, things I don't even remember. He used to have me come watch him and his friends skate half pipes and rails as he got a little older. He gave me a hand me down pair and made fun of me, I could barely skate. All they did was watch skate videos... later dvds, or go practice old tricks or invent new ones. He lived to skate and he was amazing. He wasn't even 16 before he was getting signed to go pro. But a bad fall blew out his knee. He recovered. And to me he was still great. But by that time I guess he felt like he had a bad knee, he had aged out. He was about going in and owning it. If he couldn't, what was the point. We were a lot alike that way. After that he always dreamed of opening a skate shop. Then it got bigger. He wanted to open a skate park. it was his passion. His dream.

My brother loved life. And he lived every second of it. He wasn't perfect. He was a free spirit. Undisciplined. He was like the wind. He raged against the rules. Against conventional society. He lived free. He was never going to be a slave to the man. He had a passion for life that was exhausting. When he smiled, his eyes smiled. When he laughed, you had to laugh too. And it was his goal to make sure everyone he loved was always laughing. He was comical and talented and full of love. He was so alive it was electric. He fell in with the wrong element and for a little while he was lost in the dark. But for more than a year before he died I caught that electricity in a jar as it raved back through him and I remember the gift of having him back with me before he passed. And having him home. Hanging out. Watching movies. I could never have been ready for him to die. It was like losing a limb. It hasn't healed. I don't think it ever will. His life was too sort, but he lived every single second of it. And I've learned to take some solace in that, That on the day that he died we had a great lazy movie day. And we lad on the couch and shoved each other around. Just like we always did. And I knew that he loved me.. And he knew that I loved him just as much. The family tree section really bothers me. Because my brothers and sister and I all grew up together. Billy had me, The others were a lot older. He was my Bubby. My Bushwooly. He followed me everywhere. And I wasn't half of a sister. If anything I was a sister, a brother, a babysitter and a best friend, He was my brother and there was no half about it. And no one dared ever call him that. It's not how things were. I wish I could have taken his place. But I feel him with me. All of. the time. And I'm finally starting to smile more and cry less. Because I remember that the world was so much more crazy and colorful with him in it. I remember how cute he was when he was little. And I can't wait to see him again. Every night when I fall asleep, we might be catching fireflies or sucking on honeysuckles. Riding our bikes or trick or treating. Coloring. Playing Zelda with no sleep with our friends for 3 days straight until we beat it. And those are things not even death can take from me. I got to spend all day every day with him, watching him grow up. Protecting him and teaching him. I got to have that ball of electricity gravitate around me. And that was a gift I will cherish always. Beautiful soul... Yang to my Yin. I know that you are always with me.. Namaste.
