I have an old studio photograph identified as Wilson MAXWELL which was taken at the Lon M. Porter Studio in Washington, PA. Wilson is identified as a member of the Class of 1893, and he is dressed in a graduation gown in the photograph. I'm guessing that it is a college graduation photograph with Wilson appearing to be in his teens or 20's at the time it was taken.
Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Wilson and his family:
William Wilson MAXWELL was b. 7 Oct 1871 in Washington or Mount Pleasant, PA to parents Robert Graham MAXWELL (1844-1881) and Sarah Isabella MCCARRELL (1844-1871). Wilson had one sibling Edna Dinsmore or Disnmore MAXWELL (b. 1868). His mother died at the time of his birth and his father remarried, Hannah Jane CALDWELL (1851-1910) and two additional children were born including, John Ralph; and Robert Graham MAXWELL Jr. in 1878 and 1881.
Wilson was married to Mary Edna DICKEY (1876-1933) on 12 Oct 1899 in Brookville, PA and they had a daughter, Mary Dickey MAXWELL (1906-1981). Wilson died 2 Jul 1943 in South Fayette, PA and he is buried in the Washington Cemetery in North Franklin Township, PA.
I am hoping to get this treasure to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.
Thanks,
Shelley
