Wilmer Amos Grube's father was Morris Grube (1865 - 1910) and his mother was Mary Ann Clymer (1870 - 1955). He had siblings Estella, Lillian, and Earl. Wilmer married Estella M Mentzell (1901 - 1933) on November 14, 1925 in Fullerton Pennsylvania. They had David W. Grube (1933 - 2014). Estella died in Allentown Hospital of "acute yellow atrophy of liver secondary to eclampsia, peripheral" at age 32 and a half. She was buried in Grandview Cemetery. He then married Gertrude A Dorne on December 25, 1934 and they had a daughter. When they married, Wilmer was a salesman and Gertrude was a clerk. According to the description on his World War II draft card, Wilmer was married to Gertrude and was 5 feet 9.5 inches tall and weighed 168 pounds. He had brown eyes, brown hair, and a "light brown" complexion with a birthmark on his left leg. When Wilmer was 50, he was living in Allentown Pennsylvania with his wife Gertrude and children David (from his first marriage) and Mary Anne (from his marriage to Gertrude). He was a salesman at a Lehigh Candy & Tobacco Co. for more than 60 years, retiring in 1978.

The following is from The Morning Call (Allentown, Pennsylvania) published 15 Jul 1982, Thu on Page 35: Wilmer A. Grube Wilmer A Grube, 81, of 660 N. Sherman St., Allentown, died Tuesday in the Allentown and Sacred Heart Hospital Center. He was the husband of the late Gertrude A. (Dorne) Grube and the late Stella M. (Mentzell) Grube. He was a salesman for Lehigh Candy and Tobacco Co., Fullerton, for more that 60 years before retiring in 1978. Born in Shelly, he was a son of the late Morris and Mary Ann (Clymer) Grube. Surviving are a son, David W. of Allentown, a daughter, Mary Ann, wife of Edward Fallon of Enid, Minn.; a brother Earl of Coopersburg and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown. Calling hours will be 7-8 p.m. Friday.ADVERTISEMENT BYLooking for more information?
