According to the description on his World War II draft card, Wilmer was married to Gertrude and was 5 feet 9.5 inches tall and weighed 168 pounds. He had brown eyes, brown hair, and a "light brown" complexion with a birthmark on his left leg. When Wilmer was 50, he was living in Allentown Pennsylvania with his wife Gertrude and children David (from his first marriage) and Mary Anne (from his marriage to Gertrude). He was a salesman at a Lehigh Candy & Tobacco Co. for more than 60 years, retiring in 1978.
