A. E. Goodrich
I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as that of A. E. GOODRICH which was taken at the T. A. Beach Studio in Delaware, OH. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's with the young man in the photograph likely in his teens or early 20's at the time it was taken. In addition to his name he wrote "Yours Truly" and "Worthington" along with something else which is partially cut off. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this young man and his family:

Allison Ebenezer GOODRICH was b. 17 Aug 1850 in Liberty, OH to parents Aaron Strong GOODRICH (1814-1896) and Sarah Ann HARDIN (1827-1888). Allison was one of three children born to this couple including, Allison Ebenezer; George Blucher; and William Hiland GOODRICH, all born between 1850 and 1854. Allison married Jessie YOUMANS (b. 1857 or 1858) and he died 20 or 23 Jan 1924 and is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware, OH.

I’m hoping to locate someone from this GOODRICH Family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley

This very handsome young man's name was "Allison Ebenezer" but he went by "A.E." - guess even in the 1800s those names didn't fit him.

David Phelps it’s the caring about the appearance. Not wearing clothes down around the bottoms, or showing all their books and crannies, or any of the things that have been going on these last few decades. It’s the care people took into their appearance back then. It’s seems to have stopped in about the 70’s

Glory Hayes yup I agree - I think the hippie era did a lot to downgrade the dress code and then the early '90's with the grunge look, this is just an observation, not a statement as to how one should dress, my mom from the '40's was a fashion plate, I alas am not, she was very disappointed.

Allison got an MA at Wesleyan University of Ohio and became a farmer. I found a family member at Genealogy.com and left a message, giving the above URL.
