A photo of Adril Floyd Zipperer was the groundskeeper for Mr. Ringling (of the circus fame) in Sarasota, FL. He also owned and farmed the land in east Manatee County, FL on what is now known as Zipperer Road. This photo was taken on his farm when he was approximately 25 years old.
Adril had scarlet fever when he was 3 years old, and the illness turned his hair bright-white for the remainder of his life.
Adril born November 28, 1897 in Valdosta, GA and died in Wakulla, FL in 2000. He was my great grandfather and to date no one can make a peanut butter sandwich like my Pop.
He was the son of Charles Robert "Tony" Lovett Zipperer Jr. and Laura Lee "Pet" Wisenbaker, both of whom are buried in Fogartyville Cemetary, Manatee Co. FL. He is the paternal grandson of Charles Robert "Jack" Zipperer Sr. & Eliza Corbitt of Lowndes Co, GA. and the maternal grandson of Adriel Herman Wisenbaker and Harriet Rebekah Wisenbaker of Lowndes Co, GA. Both families hail from the "Georgia Salzburgers".
