Alta Mae (Wells) Fowler-Russell was born in 1902 to John Frank Wells and Mary Ollie (Dodson), and had siblings Maude Elizabeth Didway, Virginia Helen (Wells), Lillie Vursie (Wells), Effie A (Wells), Ada Bell (Wells), Elmer Wells, and Leona H (Wells). She married Marion L Russell on July 20, 1847 in Sebastian County, Arkansas United States. She married Herman L Fowler on July 3, 1920 in Panama, Le Flore County, Oklahoma United States.
