Alva Mae Ahrens was born to Albert C. and Mary Long Bender, and had siblings Leo Bender and Mrs. Arthur Muldoon, and Mrs. Clement Hale.
She married Christy W. Ahrens on December 3rd 1920 in Oil City and had two sons Robert L. and Pvt. Donald P. Ahrens.
According to the 1930s census she was 30 and Christie was 31 living at 63 Siverly Avenue in Oil City with her sons Robert (age 7) and Donald (age 2) and sister-in-law Pearl V Bender (age 18). Ten years later, according to the 1940s census, the family lived at 766 Colbert Avenue with their sons then aged 17 and 12.
Alva was an active member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Oil City Pennsylvania. She passed away at her home on February 27th 1950 also in Oil City.
