Amanda Meyer Possehl
I have an old studio photograph of Amanda MEYER which was taken at the Barrett Studio in Hampton, IA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Amanda likely in her teens at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Amanda and her family:
Amanda MEYER was b. 21 Oct 1885 in Lake Township, Cook Co., IL to parents August W. MEYER (1863-1950) and Louisa SENF (1865-1906) who were married 20 Jul 1882 in DuPage County, IL. She was their only child and moved with her parents to Iowa in 1890 farming in Richland Township, Franklin Co., IA.
Amanda married Louis Fred POSSEHL (1876-1956) on 9 Jul 1902 in Richland Township, Franklin Co., IA and they had two children, a daughter Luella POSSEHL (1902-1905) who was just 18 months old when Amanda died, and a boy Edgar August POSSEHL (born 30 Jul 1904-1966).
Amanda died 23 Aug 1904 in Franklin County, IA of blood poisoning and is buried in the Saint Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Latimer, IA. Her infant son was baptized in the church next to his mother’s casket.
I’d like to get the photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.
Thanks,
Shelley
