She died in 1844 leaving relatives in Ohio to raise Andrew as only two years of age with siblings Henry Neff, Harriett Neff and Agnes Neff. William was the son of Polly Rentfroe Neff b. 1777 Franklin Co. VA and Jacob Knave(Neff) b. 1774. They are both buried in St. John's Cemetery in Cass Co., IN
