SOUTH BEND - Barry Dale Johnson Jr., 34, a loving family man, a
resident of South Walnut Street, South Bend, Indiana, passed away at
3:11 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, in the Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center. On June 23, 1974, in South Bend, Barry was born to
the union of Barry D. Johnson Sr. and Allie Williams - Johnson. Barry
attended South Bend public schools and graduated from Riley High
School in 1993. Barry and Venetta Worix were married in South Bend
on July 23, 2005. " To My Love, You have made this past 12 years of my life so
happy. You were a blessing in my life. I will miss you so very much. I love
you. Thank God for blessing me with my husband. Your Wife." Family members
who survive to mourn his loss include his wife, Venetta Johnson; two sons, Barry D.
Johnson III and Nathan M. Johnson; his parents, Barry D. and Allie Johnson Sr.; two
sisters, Danielle White, all of South Bend, and Margaret Norris of Granger, IN; two
brothers, Alexander Johnson and DeAngelo Smith; parental grandmother, Mattie
Johnson, all of South Bend; aunts, Jennifer Johnson and Viola Petty; uncles, Nathaniel
Williams Jr., Bernard (Nancy) Johnson and Kelley Johnson; nieces and nephews, Tiger
Harvey, Kaylee Johnson and Samara Kiwale; close cousins, Joseph (Adrianna) Petty
and Annie (Roger) Cotton, and Ronnie Britton; along with other relatives and friends.
Loved ones who preceded him in death were his maternal grandparents, Nathaniel and
Allie Williams; his paternal grandfather, James R. Johnson; and a cousin, Hezikah S.
Petty. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23,
in New Horizons Outreach Ministry, with Apostle Dennis Givens officiating. Interment
will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The visitation will be from noon until time of the
services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where messages of
condolence may be e-mailed to [contact link], c/o the Johnson family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations.
