Lexington Native Dies At Age 57
Barry Neil Johnson, 57, of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at his home.

Born July 2, 1964 in Lexington, he was a son of Wilford Randolph Johnson and Frances Viola Reynolds Johnson.

In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Kallie Frances Rylie Johnson, and mother-in-law, Nancy Graves.

Barry graduated from Natural Bridge High School. He loved to watch UVA games and hunt. He enjoyed going to the race track, especially NASCAR (he was a Kyle Busch fan). Barry also loved to watch the New York Yankees and the Redskins play.

In addition to his father he is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Donna who was his caregiver for the last seven years during his illness and was always by his side; a brother, Gary R. Johnson (Carolyn); sisters-in-law, Debbie Mohler (Odie) and Margie Koogler (David); brother-in-law, Charles E. Graves (Lori); nephews, Gary R. Johnson Jr. and Matt Mohler; nieces, Heather Mohler, Nicole Koogler Clark (Jonathan), Courtney Koogler Ercolano (Sam) and Samantha Graves; great nieces, Hadleigh Martin, Alexis Clark, Charlie Clark and Allie Warnick; great nephews, Rylan Mohler, Will McDougle, Beau Breeden and Treyce McCormick; father-in-law, Charles L. Graves; many friends; and two special furry friends, Codie and Molly.

Due to COVID, there will be a private family service.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
