Bernard A. Holbrook 1924 - 2002 Hanks, North Dakota to etc. & etc.

Bernard a. Bernie Holbrook, 78, passed away, on November 6th, 2002 at home, surrounded by his family.

Bernie was born on August 12th 1924, can Hanks North Dakota. He grew up on the Family Farm outside Medicine Lake in northeastern Montana. After High School he attended the College of Great Falls, starting accounting. He served in the Army infantry in World War II. He married Betty Russek in Great Falls in 1948, the four children, Greg and Debbie.

He retired from International Harvester in 1982, after 33 years of service. During his years with IH he lived in Great Falls, Des Moines, Denver, Kansas City, Missouri; Minneapolis, and then he and his wife retired at Billings. Betty died of cancer in 1985.

In 1987, Bernie married Carolyn Case. They have enjoy 15 happy years of marriage - traveled extensively and treasured their time with their friends, and grandchildren. The Holbrooks have always enjoyed traveling and camping. His interests have been cars, dancing, bowling and golf. He enjoyed watching golfing football on TV. Pleasuresburg reunions with his four kids and their families, including his 11 grandchildren. They now live in Louisiana, Minnesota, Arizona, Kansas and Arkansas.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Mike Holbrook, call Brooke Craig Holbrook and Debbie Zella; and his 11 grandchildren.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
