Bessie Currie
I have two old studio photographs belonging to the CURRIE Family of Amsterdam, NY. The fist photograph is one of Grace CURRIE and was taken at the Wheaton Studio in Amsterdam, NY sometime in the 1890's. Grace appears to be about 7-8 years old at the time the photograph was taken.

The second photograph is identified as Bessie CURRIE who is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William CURRIE. Bessie is identified as 1 year old at the time the photograph was taken, likely in the 1880's or 1890's. A note also says "died before Grace CURRIE was born".

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the two girls:

Grace R. CURRIE was b. 7 Dec 1891 in New York City, New York to parents William James Campaign CURRIE (1857-1923 son of William G. or J. CURRIE and Sarah MCGREGOR) and Althea VONDAME (1860-1931 the dau of James VONDAME and Jane PASSOLINK).

Grace married Bernard Franklin WILLOUGHBY (1893 or 1894-1950) on 24 Apr 1911 in Amsterdam, NY and they had two children including Virginia Roselle WILLOUGHBY (1912-2001) and Rita G. WILLOUGHBY SYZDEK (1914-1981).
Grace died 3 May 1968 in Grosse Pointe, MI and is buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.

Bessie CURRIE was b. 14 Dec 1887 and died 14 Mar 1889 and is buried in the Green Hill Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY. Based on the note I believe that she was born to the same parents prior to Grace’s birth.

I am hoping to get the photographs to a family member and would appreciate you reaching out to me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
