Bob and Dee Lindley in the early 1960s. After having one son together, the two divorced in 1978, remarried shortly afterwards "for the children" (Dee had two daughters from a previous marriage) and then divorced again almost immediately.
Robert Myron Lindley was a sportswriter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, primarily covering the Texas Rangers from their move to Arlington, Texas, in 1972 (prior to which they had been the Washington Senators), until his retirement in 1986.
He died of stroke while undergoing quintuple bypass surgery in Dallas, Texas, in December 1987.
