Bob (far right) in a college production of We're No Angels at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, circa the early 1950s. This exact production was the first-ever drama appearance of later movie and TV actor Joe Don Baker, a Sigma Phi Epsilon brother of Bob at NTSU. Joe Don was bored and asked Bob where he was going. Bob said he was going to rehearse the play and suggested Joe Don come along, as there were still minor parts open. Joe Don (not pictured here) was cast as the Navy man who enters towards the end of the play (and the 1955 Humphrey Bogart movie), and took such a liking to acting that he made it a successful career, playing the lead in the movie Walking Tall and the titular lead in the TV show Eischeid, among many, many others.
