Callie Ballard's "Jimmy"

I at first thought this was Callie's son Jimmy, but in working on her tree, I now wonder if this is James L. Gill, who may have been a James Gill - Meade's father, mother sited as a Ballard in documents, then making Callie's son Jimmy be born around 1923. More research needs to be done, unless someone else recognizes him and can help me.

is this Callie Ballard's husband or her son? and if known if her husband was a James L. Gill or if her husband was called Louis, or Loui? The reason I ask is because I can find a Caroline Ballard and James L. Gill in documentation but their son was born in 1923. Callie was my Grandmother Nancy Hargis Haight's friend, so all I have to go by is information on the backs of old photos and I may have her tree figured out, but maybe missing a generation in there to know forsure.
