Carl was born on Mar 6, 1846 in Moltzow (Rambow), Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. He immigrated to New York City on Aug. 28, 1854 at the age of 8 with his family. They lived in Chicago and as a youngman, Charles moved to B'klyn, NY.
