The partially-decomposed body of a Herndon, Va, refuse collector was found shortly after noon yesterday in his car parked near the intersection of Routes 7 and 28 at Dranesville, Fairfax County police reported.
Police identified the man as Caskie Withers, about 40, of Route 2, Sterling, in neighboring Loudoun County.
Police Lt. James W. Maley said the death appeared to be by natural causes and that no foul play is suspected. An autopsy is to be performed, he said. Herndon town police received a missing person's report on Withers Monday, county police said. He was found sitting behind the wheel in his compact car which was parked along with other autos on the site of a demolished service station.
Caskie Withers Jr was the son of Caskie Withers Sr and Rosa Bruce Anderson. He had siblings including Mary Eugenia Withers (1914-1998), Gladys Elizabeth Withers (1915-2002), Frank Anderson Withers (1917-1918), Anna Bruce Withers (1920-1998), Pfc Cleveland Alexander Withers (1922-1964), James Frederick Withers (1924-1937), and Robert Louis Withers Sr (1925-1999).
He was born in Sterling, VA and grew up in Massies Mill, Nelson, Virginia, USA.
On November 28, 1942 he married Clara Marie Hicks (1924–1983) in Richmond, VA. They had three sons including James Anderson Withers (1948-2004) and one daughter.
