My maternal grandfather was the eldest of 5 and he always said his mother told them that they were Bohemian. However, the rest of the clan claims they are Hungarian and that Bohemian isn't a real ethnicity. I've researched and I believe Grandpap knew what he was talking about. So, to answer the question with your lovely photo, I do have ancestors from Bohemia.

I too have ancestors from Bohemia, they came to the states in 1854. My Great, Great Grandfather , Frank Konecne, served in the Civil War.

My grandmother was born in Plzen, Czechoslovakia in 1900 and my grandfather was born in Hubin, Russia but was Bohemian (1896). Both immigrated to the United States (grandmother in 1906 and grandfather in 1914) and their families moved to Mason City, Iowa for work.
