Charles J Wadsley
Charles (Chuck) J. Wadsley's life began on December 8, 1926, in Sioux City, IA. He was adopted by Charles Clarence Wadsley (1887-1966) and Florence (Cober) Wadsley (1887-1970) when he was just 2.5 months old. Chuck grew up in a loving home and was baptized and confirmed at the Nemaha United Methodist Church. He attended grade school at Delaware Township Consolidated School and graduated from high school with the class of 1944. After graduation, Chuck decided to enlist in the United States Army to serve his country. He was deployed to the war effort and honorably discharged in November 1946. After returning home, Chuck found love and was united in marriage to Marjorie Ina Noll (1930-2018) on June 5, 1949, at the Ida Grove United Methodist Church. Together they had six wonderful children: Kathryn, Joseph, Shirlee, Lona, C. Alan and Roy. Chuck was a farmer and a jack of all trades. He attended the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, IA, and was an active member of the Buena Vista Barbershop Chorus, singing in many Barbershop quartets. He was also part of the neighborhood card club, Sac County Republican’s Committee, Airstream, and Good Sam’s Clubs. Chuck and his wife enjoyed camping regularly in their airstream. In his free time, Chuck enjoyed going antiquing, designing his house, grainery, and fabricating and designing his gravity wagon, as well as yard art. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them. Chuck was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his passing left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. However, his memory will always be treasured by those who were blessed to have known him.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!
