Sarah parents were Charged Nicholas Mark and Catherine Munzer. Charles and Catherine were met in Missouri where they married and lived on a farm in Halls. Here Sarah was born. In 1875 Charles sold the farm and took Sarah and the rest of the family by covered wagon to San Francisco. From there the traveled up to the Willimate Valley where he purchased a farm where the spent the rest of their lives.
Sophia Mark was born in Missouri to Charles Nicholas Mark (1814-1889) and Catherine Munzer (1822-1865) and had siblings Charles Joseph (1849-1939), Mary Anne (1851-1939), Elizabeth T. (1857-1932), Caroline "Carrie" (1861-1944), Sarah Josephine (1864 - 1954) and Magdalon Mark.
Charles came to America years old with his parents when he was 19, They arrived in New York from Nancy, France. They first lived in Utica, New York before moving to Chicago. The Mark family moved to Missouri where he met Mary Ann's mother, Catherine. In 1841, Catherine came to America at age 19 with her Aunt Beller's family. They had first gone to Louisville, Kentucky then to St. Louis, Missouri. On 6 June 1848, Charles Marc and Catherine were married and moved to a farm near Halls, Missouri. In 1875, Charles Mark sold the farm and left by covered wagon for San Francisco. From there, they traveled up to Oregon. They settled in the McMinniville area where they raised their children as devote Catholics.

I have been dropped from this site for lack of use, but today I recieved a notice that Vaughn photos were added to the Acient Faces and this interested me.
