Colonel Edward Timberlake, West Point

A photo of Colonel Edward Timberlake of West Point. Col. Timberlake was Superintendent of the US Military Academy at West Point. All four of his sons attended and graduation. The first was Wreene in 1917, star football player. Wreene's teammates included Omar Bradley and James Van Fleet, while Dwight Eisenhower assisted on the sidelines. The youngest was Ed Timberlake, Jr. He was appointed second lieutenant in 1931. His first executive officer as General was Jimmy Stewart.
