David Allen Kogler Obituary
Irondequoit: Passed away peacefully Sunday, July 18, 2010 at age 59 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is predeceased by his father, Donald F. Kogler; step-father, Robert Freisner; brother, Fritz Kogler. He is survived by his wife, Penny Lynn Kogler; mother, Jeannine Freisner; son, Shawn (Katie) Kogler; step-son, Lawrence Keating; daughter, Carrie (Brian) Cacia; grandchildren, Drew and Adam Kogler, Randi, Mariah and Jake Eccleston, Matteson and Alina Cacia; sister, Kathleen (Bill) Ellsworth; brothers, Kenneth (Suz-ie) Kogler, Edward (Midge) Kogler; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

David was a United States Marine Corp vet-eran, serving during the Vietnam War.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 21 from 4 to 7 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd., where Services will be held immediately following calling hours at 7 PM.

David Allen Kogler is the son of Donald F. Kogler and Jeannine Freisner. He had a brother named Fredrick Kogler (1948-2009). He was born on November 27, 1950 in Rochester, New York. He was a student of Irondequoit High School in New York and was an athlete in school. He is remembered for his big smile. David Kogler served in the US Marines from June 29, 1970 until his discharge on June 28, 1973 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Penny Lynn Kogler on August 10, 1971 at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Irondequoit, NY and was father to two children; Shawn Kogler and Carrie Kogler Cacia. After a battle with cancer, David Kogler passed away on July 18, 2010 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
