Dennis Noel Johnson, 83, of Menominee, Mich. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Aurora Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette, WI. He was born December 25, 1937, in Menominee, Mich. to the late Emrick and Ellen (Backman) Johnson.

Dennis graduated from Menominee High School class of 1955.
After graduation he joined the United States Army where he served his country proudly from 1956 until he was honorably discharged in 1959.

On June 25, 1960, Dennis married Barbara Erkkila in Milwaukee, Wis. He is a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Menominee.

Dennis worked for over 30 years as a tractor mechanic and service manager for John Deere. He is also a retired 3rd generation Ingallston Township board member, had over 26 years of service on the Menominee-Ingallston Volunteer Fire Dept., and was a member of the Fisherman's Association.

Dennis enjoys hunting, fishing, working in the woods and working on the farm. He was an avid outdoors man and loved going to camp. His greatest passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his wife Barbara of Menominee, Mich.;
3 sons: Jeff (Shelly Fisher) Johnson of Cheboygan, Mich.; Kevin (Renee) Johnson of Sobieski, Wis. and Jay (Alison) Johnson of Kaukauna, Wis.;
6 grandchildren: Emily, Julia, Adam, Sarah, Jayson and Kale.
his siblings: Anita (Les) Hendershot, Alan (Jeanne) Johnson, Rick (Audrey) Johnson, Dean (Diane) Johnson;
and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
