Donald "Butch" Dukatz
EMMETT - Donald E. "Butch" Dukatz, 31, of 11720 Bryce Road, died Wednesday in Yale Community Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 1, 1947, in Port Huron, and was a lifelong Emmett resi-dent. He married Anne Hughes May 5, 1967, in Capac.

Mr. Dukatz was an independent truck operator.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Donald and Adam; two daughters, Ann Marie and Tammy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dukatz; two brothers, Norman and Robert; and four sisters, Mrs. Veronica Anderson, Mrs. Lucinda Friedsberg and Margaret R. and Maureen Dukatz, all of Emmett.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Capac. The Rev. Leonard Wallace, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Emmett.

Visiting hours at Barnard Funeral Home, Capac, end at 9 p.m. today. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Donald Earl Dukatz was born on November 1, 1947, in Port Huron, Michigan, to Norman Leslie Dukatz and Margaret Vornica Hanson. He had two brothers, Norman John Dukatz (1957-2015) and Robert Dukatz, as well as four sisters. During his childhood, Donald lived in Emmett, St. Clair, Michigan, with his aunt and uncle, Loyd and Kathryn Dukatz, and his cousin, Norman Dukatz. He attended Capac High School in Capac, Michigan, during the 1960s. Later, Donald resided in Capac and Yale, St. Clair, Michigan, and worked as an independent truck operator. He passed away on January 10, 1979, in Yale, St. Clair County, Michigan.
