There's no date on the photo but doesn't this look like a 1920's homemade dress? (Love the furnture!)

This is likely 20's. Notice the loose finger waves in her hair. The shoes are pointed also.

Im thinking its the 20s. Her hair dress and shoes say so. The wallpaper and furnishings say so too.

A lot of elements to it, aren't there? I think photos taken at home are often more interesting than studio photos!

AncientFaces You're right, because we all collect things from different eras, making it a detective work to figure out when the photo was actually taken.

Gramophone could be several years old in the photo........ just like we take home photos and have antiques in the background.

MaryAnne Bannon Robertson it was a useful hint. I just wanted to point that out because we sometimes want to date photos by cars, gramophones and fashions which can always be several years old.

The bridge lamp fits the same time frame; dress is closer to 1923-24 but her hat is earlier--almost a bonnet. Real folks had to keep using stuff; only gangsters and "New Money" had everything matching and in period.

Sure does! They sold pre-cut pattern pieces with the trim already on them, in Sears and Wards-type catalogs. The gathers definitely suggest homemade.
