Carla was born to Ella Mae Sheffy (Jan 23, 1922-May 11, 2009) and Duard Wilson "D.W." Sheffy (Sep 19,1917-Nov 18, 2001) in 1950. She had two brothers named Ralph and Cliff Sheffy. Carla's first marriage was to Nicholas Dale Duncan on Jan 30, 1971 (or Feb 6, 1971) when the couple was in their early 20's. They married in Travis, Texas, USA and an article in the local newspaper was published about thier wedding, Duncan-Sheffy Marriage Article. Carla and Nick had children together including a son, Caleb Duncan born November 16, 1974 and Rachel Duncan born June 21, 1979 in Val Verde, Texas, USA.
