Eddie McCall, Broom Brigade

A photo of Eddie McCall in the Broom Brigade. Taken in Lexington, Tennessee in the 1880, this is a group of privileged girls in matching sailor-type suits posing with brooms in a dirt lot. My great-grandmother, Eddie McCall is in the back row, 3rd from the left and, apparently unhappy. This curious scene drew a small crowd of on-lookers.
