Ella Esterle Fenwick
I have two old studio photographs belonging to the FENWICK family of New York including one of John B. FENWICK which was taken at the Photo Art Studio in Poughkeepsie, NY in the 1890's with John likely in his teens at the time it was taken. The second photograph also taken in the 1890's is of Ella Esterle FENWICK and was taken at the U.S. Portrait Co. Studio in Brooklyn, NY with Ella likely in her teens or 20's at the time it was taken.

Based on limited research and thanks to the assistance of family researchers I was able to gather this information regarding the family:

Rev. John Bussier FENWICK was b. 19 Jul 1874 in Brooklyn or New York City, NY to parents William F. or H. FENWICK (b. 1843 of 1844) and Mary Frances HESSLER (1845-1928) who were married 23 Sept 1867 in New York. John had three siblings, Mary FENWICK (b. 1869), Araminta or Armita or Aromenie or Armintha M. FENWICK (b. 1870) and Estelle FENWICK (b. 1872). John married Florence E. LOUCKS or LOUEKS (1879-1962) on 4 Aug 1897 in Dewittville, NY and they had a son Rev. Donald B. FENWICK (1909-1977).

John died 7 Mar 1953 in Bellevue, WA and is buried in the Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park Cemetery in Seattle, WA. John was a Pastor at Bellevue Community Congregational Church for 21 years. John’s obituary lists his surviving family members including his wife, Florence; a son Donald B. FENWICK of Bellevue, WA; and a sister Miss Estalle FENWICK of New York. His son Donald had two daughters including Carolyn Gay FENWICK who married Mr. HALTOM and Donna Jean FENWICK who married Mr. PERRY and was living in Bothell, WA at some point in time.

His sister Ella Estelle or Esterle FENWICK was b. 20 Jul 1872 in Brooklyn, NY to these same parents and doesn’t appear to have married or had children.

I’d like to get the photographs back to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
