This is believed to be one of the pictures taken when Erma was about to graduate from the Ephpheta School for the Deaf in Chicago, Illinois 3 June 1920, probably by a photographer who came to the school.
Erma was the only child of Joseph and Terezia (Rez) Pesta Horvath who lived in South Bend, Indiana.
