He was the son of William Mustard and Anna Patterson Mustard.

Those Colt revolving rifles had a bad habit of chain firing and blowing the cylinder side out. It made for a bad day for the shooter.

The prop gun was a cut down Winchester 1892 in .44-40 called a 'Mare's Leg." For visual affect, McQueen wore .45-70 cartridges in his gun belt.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
