Flight Crew of 98th Squadron Royal Air Force in WWII
The arrow points to my father, Gregory Allen, who was a Navigator Bombardier during WWII. He was in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) but they flew with the Royal Air Force (RAF). The Squadron had a mixture of Canadian and British personnel in both the flight crew and ground crew. The ground crew included some New Zealand Maori. The CO (commanding officer) was British. The RAF uniform blue was much lighter than the blue worn by the RCAF in Canada. Dad and the rest of the squadron wore the RAF blue. When dad served in the squadron, they were flying the North American B-25 Mitchell medium bomber
