Friedrich Hertel of McLaughlin, Corson County, South Dakota USA was born on January 28, 1868 at home in Neu Glueckstal, Glueckstal District County, Odessa S. Russia (Ukraine) to Jakob Hertel and Rosina (Kraenzler) Hertel. He had siblings Johann Hertel, Rosina (Hertel) Baier, Jacob (Hertel) Hirtel, Katharina (Hertel) Rall, Christian Hertel, Karl (Hertel) Harttel, and Christine Hertel. Friedrich Hertel died at age 74 years old on January 20, 1943 at daughter's home in Bowdle, Edmunds County, South Dakota USA, and was buried in 1843 at Hope Lutheran Cemetery, but reburied in Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery in presently, McLaughlin, Corson County.
