She married Vladik Severin Walcik on May 6, 1946 in Yoakum, Lavaca County, and they were married until Gaynell's death on December 6, 1993. Gaynell Walcik was buried on December 8, 1993 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Yoakum, Lavaca County.
