George was the first born son of George W. Greek Sr. and Syvilla Lindsey Greek. He weighed 10lbs and 13 oz at birth.
He worked hard a young lad and held many different jobs while growing up. In 1944 he was drafted in the US Army during WWII. He had the honor of receiving the silver star presented to him by George Patton.
After returning home from the war he began working for Golder Oil company. He met and married Sybil Louise Keller on June 29, 1946. They had one child a daughter Sybil Elizabeth born on January 21, 1948.
In 1947 he opened his own Fuel Oil and Kerosine buisness, George W. Greek Oil Co. Later he included Heating and Air Conditioning to the company name.
During times he was not delivering oil, etc, He worked in his vegetable garden and restored Model A and Model T Fords. He attended Macedonia Baptist Church where he served on several committees and used his wonderful voice in the church choir.
He was a man of integrity and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.
