Hatfield Castle - Steppingstones
This house was built by abraham hatfield who was the husband of Mabel Whitman in New Canaan, CT. It took 7 years to build, had a private chapel , greenhouse, and a pipe organ fittings . It had servants, dumbwaiters, cellar, and choi fish in the pond in the back yard. The house was fireproof. His wife Mabel Hatfield did not know how to drive. He wrote the books: Matthias Hatfield, Captain John hatfield and Hatfields of Westchester. He died in 1957 when he was run over by a train in Mt Dora Florida.
