I'm not sure what it was that made me start trying to learn more about my geneology but I do know that now, I can't stop!! LOL. I have found a half cousin I didn't know about less than a week after I started so I guess that's where I got the urge to learn even more. I think my main problem is the fact that my family has some name issues. My grandfather was born Floyd Minor but took his mother's madien(at least I think it was her madien name)name, Taylor. I had census records showing Floyd as a Minor then later as a Taylor. Also, his mother, my GreatGrandmother, out lived 4 husbands. I always referred to her as Gram Brandon but haven't found anything on her with that name. I have her in Fairmont Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in 1910 age 15 or 16 listed as Claudine Taylor living with her 17 year old brother, Adrian S. Taylor, head of household, and a Catherine A. Taylor listed as the mother of them. Only according to the year of her birth, she would have been about 50 years old when she gave birth to them. I'm not positive but I don't think many 50 year old women in the 1890's gave birth. After Gram Brandon died in 1990, at the age of 95, a Civil War uniform was found that was supposed to have belonged to her father. All that and that is only my father's side of the family. I do have a Family Tree started, although I'm not sure of how accurate it is. If you see anything on my tree that you think is wrong, feel free to let me know and offer any assistance you have for me.
