Born in North Carolina on August 02, 1933, he was the son of the late Johnny Calloway Holbrook and Flossie(Casey) Holbrook.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Holbrook worked as a spray painter,6 years at General Motors and 34 years for Chrysler Assembly in Newark,Delaware.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially his favorite driver, Mark Martin. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, working on cars, wrestling and his frequent trips to see everyone at McDonald's on Belle Hill Road. Clyde spent a lifetime being a master mechanic and helping others with his talents. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Prior to his illness; he helped with the food missions at Baldwin UMC for many years.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Muriel Agnes Stout and Mazie Fay Cambell; and by brothers; Carl Holbrook, Johnnie Claude Holbrook and Lundy Brownlow
(Bee) Holbrook.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Shirley Dunsmore Holbrook,his children; Bonnie Sue Nagle of Rising Sun,MD., Patricia M. Burnell(Luis) of Elkton,Md., Ira Clyde Holbrook,Jr.(Cyndi)of North East, Md., and Belinda J. Holbrook ;his brother Mack A. Holbrook (Bev) of Colora, Md ; his twin brother and sister, Bobby James Holbrook (Rita)of Elkin, North Carolina and Barbara Jean"Sister" Sellers(Michael)of Thurmond,North Carolina.
Crouch Funeral Home,P.A. 127 S. Main Street,North East, Maryland is serving the Holbrook family.
Interment will follow in Rose Bank Cemetery, Rising Sun,Maryland.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
