The rehearsal pianist for Rodgers & Hammerstein [Jack Prenner] read and heard my score for "Nellie Bly" and he said, "You didn't used to be this smart. Now now now as a lyricist, you're as good as Oscar Hammerstein!" I fell to my knees and with clenched hands yelled, "Thank you God for this moment!"

When Jan Clayton who was the star of CAROUSEL came to my house for a party, she was delighted to see Jack Prenner at the piano so she sang for us.
