I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Jennie BAKER which was taken at the E. R. Curtiss Art Gallery Studio in Madison, WI. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870’s or 1880’s with Jennie likely in her teens or 20’s at the time. Based on limited research I was able to locate two possible matches in census records as follows:

1870 census of Bristol, WI:

William BAKER, age 37, a Farmer, born MA
Lucy BAKER, age 35, Keeping House, born England
Ephram BAKER, age 16, at Home, born WI
Charles BAKER, age 12, at Home, born WI
Louisa BAKER, age 7, born WI
William H. BAKER, age 6, born WI
Ida A. BAKER, age 4, born WI
Jennie C. or A. BAKER, age 2, born WI

- OR -

1880 census of Madison, WI: - in College Housing

Jennie BAKER, age 18, a Student, born WI, Father’s birth place unknown/Mother born WI

I’m hoping to locate someone from Jennie’s family so that the photograph and be returned to their care. If you are a member of this BAKER Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
