Jerry Ogles Sutterfield

Jerry was born to Marguerite Rogers Ogles and Hubert Ogles on 06/17/1943 . Hubert was a passenger on the S.S. Paul Hamilton (Hull Number 227) when the ship was sunk off Algiers in the Mediterranean Sea by an aerial torpedo dropped by a German Ju 88 bomber. The ship sank within 30 seconds due to the high amount of explosives on board. A total of approximately 580 men were lost on 4/20/1944(also Hubert's birthday 4/20/1918). He was only 26. Margurite would later marry Gearld Sutterfield when Jerry was around age 6 or 7. Gerald was the only father Jerry ever knew. He loved and raised Jerry as his own! Jerry has one sister. Patti Sutterfield Cooper, born to Margurite and Gerald on 1/9/ 1952.
