John Beck
When John Beck was born on September 17, 1907, in Monitor, Oregon, his father a Norwegian emigrant, Albert, was 37 and his mother also from Norway, Louise, was 37. John loved the game of Baseball and played on any field he could find a game. John never finished High School and went on to play baseball for Mt Angel College, north of Silverton, Oregon. He played a few years then went on to play baseball for the Salem Senators. He then toured the country playing for many teams and ended his career with the Portland Beavers, in Portland Oregon. He married Ruth Roberta White on October 8, 1928, in Bellingham, Washington. He died on October 18, 1990, in his hometown at the age of 83, and was buried in Silverton, Oregon.
